The morning was filled with a swimming party at our cities pool complex and then back to the school for the awards ceremony and a BBQ. I was so happy as the little guy I work with won the Most Improved Student award for the younger grades. He was so happy, and so were his parents and brother.
I received some lovely gifts from the children. I sure will miss seeing them every day next year. You see I was only on a temporary contract for this year (seems like I am always on a temporary contract) and so next school year I will either be unemployed, at a different school (which will be rough as I have always worked in this school), or who knows.
I have decided that if I can not get another position I will no longer do just noon hour supervision. It is just not worthwhile to only work for 1 hour with the cost of gas being what it is.
Today we had a staff luncheon. The Principal made some lovely speeches about all of us. Each of us got a little gift from her. Here is mine.
Well I am off to visit all of you. Everybody have a wonderful evening. God bless.

Hi Jackie~ Such warm gifts from the heart, I know you will be missed. And you're right we all have to think about work, play :), etc... with the gas prices.
Hope you have some fun planned for the summer!
What very lovely gifts! You are certainly appreciated. I was a 3rd grade teacher for years and never had an educational assistant, although one would certainly have been VERY welcome. So many kids with so many needs.
Enjoy your summer!!
What wonderful gifts, Jackie! I hope you have a relaxing summer!

Jackie,
They have changed the EA title here and I'm not sure what it is now. Brandon told me that they are no longer called EAs. Go figure!
I'm sure you will miss the kids. I volunteered in the boys' school for three years and enjoyed seeing the children each year. One of the girls went from a C- to a B+ the year I helped her with her reading. It was a good feeling.
Take care and I do hope you get another EA position next year.
Blessings,
Mary
It seems late for school to be getting out. I guess you have a different schedule up there. It was nice of the children to give you gifts of appreciation. Not many children seem to do that any more.
