Happy 4th of July to my American friends!!!
I am actually putting up a post in the morning for a change. I have sat on the deck in my jammies and had a cup or two of coffee watching the robins sample my strawberries. Good thing I manage to pick a few every day. While I love to share, these greedy little things would clear the bounty in no time. The fake owl is not working, so the netting will have to come out once again.
I thought I would post a few pictures of the flowers in the garden this morning. Everyday sees new and exciting things happening.

This hosta is getting a lovely flower stalk. Soon all the hosta's will be sporting a flowered look.

Wild sweet peas according to the older lady I got them from. To me they look more like wild snap dragons. Boy do they spread. Every so often I need to go out and tame them (or perhaps they have me trained to know when I need to thin them).

Beautiful pink flowers on the first rose I ever planted. More and more dead wood is showing however. Sure hope we can save it. My neighbour tells me that she can see it as she turns the corner on her way home.

These tall lilies grow between our house and the neighbours. They are as close to a Prairie Lily as we can get. The Prairie Lily is our provincial flower emblem and with the onset of the farming practices today is very hard to find. An endangered species out here and very well protected.

And last but not least the blossoms appear on my fuchsia. This hangs by my back door so I can enjoy it going in and out of the house. I used to buy ready made baskets, great huge hanging things. Now I just make my own basket with a couple of plants. Costs a lot less and I get to watch the growth. While they never get as big and showy as the ones from the green house, I think I get more enjoyment from these.
Well I am off to visit you all for coffee this morning.
Everybody have a wonderful day. God bless.

Jackie,
Your flowers are lovely. You have many beautiful ones.
I hope you had a great Canada Day. We didn't do anything except relax. Late in the afternoon I took the boys strawberry picking and that was fun. The berries are big, sweet and juicy this year because we've had plenty of rain.
Blessings,
Mary
Your flowers are so lovely, and your morning routine as well. My favorite thing to do is have my coffee and quiet time on the back porch early in the morning.
But here in Florida I do that December through February, otherwise it is too hot or buggy.
Have a great day. We are having a quiet 4th with no one home but the Butler and me. We may do something crazy like go see a movie.
Oh, fogot to say that it really is a different culture ... strawberry season here is in February/March. How 'bout that??
Thank-you Jackie, I hope that you have a nice day as well. I planted my first Hosta this year I love it. It is still real small so no flowers. How long does it take to flower? Congratulations on your rose it is BEAUTIFUL. That is so sweet of you to share your strawberries with the birds. I had about 6 plums on my tress for the first time and the birds ate all of them. I am hoping that next year there will be more and they will share with me.
It is alway so nice to hear from you~~~
Hugs,
ginger

Your flowers look wonderful Jackie. Sounds like the perfect way to start the morning - sitting outside with a cup of coffee watching the Robins enjoy breakfast too :-}
