When we traveled to Minot a few weeks ago, one of the bargains I picked up was an ice cream maker. The first item I made was Strawberry Sorbet. We had this for dessert last night. Mmmmm, was it ever good. I think that I have discovered yet another household gadget that I am just going to love using.
First puree the strawberries I picked from the garden. I did have to add a couple of my frozen ones to the blender to make enough strawberry puree.

Next I made the sugar syrup to add to the strawberry puree. I added it when cooled and moved on to the next step.

Poured it into the ice cream maker and turned it on. In about 10 minutes we were scooping the finished product into bowls to eat. The extra was put into an air tight container for us to use during the week.
I think I am going to try Chocolate Ice Cream next. I can see a need for a great deal more walking in the coming months.
Off to visit you all now.
Have a wonderful day. God bless.

I have never used an electric ice cream maker. I think if they'd have had them when my kids were little it would have been a fun treat.
Yummy sorbet..perfect for our hot weather! Chocolate sounds pretty good too!

I found your blog through the frugal living site. JUst thought I'd stop by to say hi!
My ice cream maker is one item I don't use much--it never turns out right for me.
That looks tasty. I've never made sorbet. My husband likes his vanilla.
I'll have to try that.
Hugs,
Nan
Hi Jackie...I like your new gadget too...just in time for summer. The sorbet sounds so refreshing and when you make chocolate ice cream I'm inviting myself over:).
Your flowers from your garden looked so pretty...I've always loved the Gerber Daisy. Have a happy day...hugs, Linda
